Ruby Jewel Taylor

Born August 30, 1929, in Tom Nolan, Mississippi, she lived in West Monroe, Louisiana before settling in Texas. Ruby will be especially remembered for her quick wit, spirit of adventure, and the tenaciousness that allowed her to touch the lives of everyone she encountered.

Survivors include her three children, Sherri Wilson, of Baytown, Texas, John Taylor, of West Monroe, Louisiana, and Michael Taylor, who is currently serving in the United States Army overseas. Ruby is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Howard Taylor, her father, John William Hodges, and her mother, Mary Elizabeth Hodges.

Funeral service was held in private. Relatives and friends are welcomed at the burial service at the Smyrna Cemetery near Atlanta, Texas today, November 17, 2009, at 2 p.m.
