On July 17, 2014, God called a good Christian man of strong faith, Roy Donald Herron, home. His journey on earth was completed and now his journey to his eternal home to be with God and his daughter, Kimberly, has begun.
Roy Don Herron, 70, of Dayton, TX, was born on May 10, 1944 in Baytown, TX. He worked as a construction superintendent and also served in the U.S. Army during 1961-1963.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burl and Annie Herron of Highlands; brother, David (Bubba) Herron; daughter, Kimberly Ann Herron Nichols; and other relatives.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Judy Herron; son, Kenny Herron and Debbie; daughter, Karrie Herron and Tony; grandchildren, Koady Herron and Nicky, Kristen Herron and Clift, and Kysta Nichols; four great-grandchildren, and one on the way; four step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; brother, Homer Herron and Lita; sisters, Shirley Brantley and Kevin, and Nancy Giles; and numerous friends and other family.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at Earthman Funeral Home.
