Rosa Alma Vasquez, 67 of highlands Texas, passed away peacefully June 4, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas on January 18, 1956 to Manuel Reyes and Elisa Hernandez.
In her childhood Alma was an adorable and fun kid. She was the life of the party and was not shy at all. She was the one who organized events and made sure it was fun and successful.
Early in life Alma met Jose Oscar Vasquez, her husband and partner in life. On December 26, 1979 Alma married Oscar. They were together for 40 years. Oscar and Alma have three beautiful children Linda, Oscar and Allen that they loved and cherished deeply. Alma will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and her very big family.
Alma had the biggest heart and the most beautiful contagious smile and laugh. She was an outgoing and hospitable person. She was also very witty, fun and had the best sense of humor! She was fearless and independent yet sensitive and incredibly compassionate. She was a skilled seamstress and thrived being a caregiver for everyone she loved. She was strong willed and a fighter. Her strength undoubtedly helped her deal with life’s challenges. Such as, fighting this battle of cancer twice, with her husbands and hers.
Alma was a strong fighter but she is now flying on a new journey in heaven that we cannot see. We know that she is free from pain and is walking peacefully with her husband in the perfect golden streets of heaven. “ love doesn't die with death. Love is like liquid; when it pours out, it seeps into others’ lives. Love changes form and shape. Love gets into everything. Death doesn't conquer all; love does. Love wins every single time. Love wins by lasting through death. Love wins by loving more, loving again, loving without fear.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jose Oscar Vasquez. Siblings Viviana, Herlinda, David, Vicente, and Juan. Parents Manuel and Elisa.
She is survived by her 3 children Linda, Oscar and Allen Vasquez. Four Grandchildren Oscar Vasquez Jr. (oscar), Jocelyn Vasquez, Julian Castillo (linda) and Owen Vasquez (Oscar). Siblings Angeles, Elisa, Maria N., Leticia and Martin. So many more friend and family that loved her.
