He was born in Baytown, Texas, on April 13,1944 to James and Treva Carter. He was married to his loving wife, Charlene, for 59 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Highlands.
Vann worked in the petrochemical industry for Exxon as a safety coordinator and catalyst specialist for 36 years. He was also a member of the Highlands Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He had a passion for carpentry and refinishing antique furniture. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Treva Carter, and his son, Vincent Hooper. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Hooper of Highlands; his son and daughter-in-law, Carter and Karen Hooper of Hankamer; his granddaughter and her husband, Kaitlin and Logan Rhame of Labelle; his great-grandchildren Aria Rhame and Weldon Rhame of Labelle; and his granddaughter and her husband, Cara and Eric Monteau of Hankamer.
Out of respect for Vann’s wishes, the family will only be holding a small, private celebration of life for him.
