Robert Joe Bradshaw, better known to some as “Pop Bob,” “Pop” and “Bob”, graduated this life and met his Lord on April 9, 2022. Robert was born on October 4, 1933 to Joe D. and Gladys Bradshaw in Conroe, Texas. He was the second of four children. Robert attended Dayton High school until he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 in 1950. He served tours of duty in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Robert was awarded numerous citations including: Korean Presidential Citation, Korean Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Defense Service Medal. He retired as a Master Gunnery Sergeant after 20+ years of service in 1971.
Robert was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crosby, Texas. He was a master carpenter and could build anything without plans. He loved to read, coach youth football, fish and tell jokes. In his latter years he focused on a very productive “engagement ministry”.
He is predeceased by his parents, Joe D. and Gladys (Barclay) Bradshaw; and brothers, Bill Bradshaw and Ray Bradshaw.
Robert is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jeanette Barbee Bradshaw; children, Deborah Alcorn-King (husband Bob), Ricky Alcorn (wife Tammy), Robert A. Bradshaw, Tim Bradshaw, JD Bradshaw (wife Linda) and Ronnie Bradshaw (wife Vivian); sister, Leila Warner (husband Jake). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life on Thursday April 14, 2022 at 11am, reception to follow at 12 noon at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home 3919 Garth Rd. Baytown, Texas 77521.
