Robbie E. Griswold McQueen

Robbie E. Griswold McQueen, 86, a resident of St. James House of Baytown for 17 years, departed this life for her heavenly home on Saturday, November 25, 2006. She was born March 12, 1920 in Camden, TX, where she attended elementary school and then high school in Chester. There she met and married Woodrow in 1937. They moved to Baytown in 1945, where they raised their children. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God Church. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her friends will be able to view her body Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Pine Grove Cemetery near Corrigan in Polk Country with Rev. Larry Trest officiating.

Robbie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles E. and Lillie Griswold; brother, Allen Griswold; and her husband of 46 years, Woodrow McQueen. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and Leo Hechler of Beach City; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Wayne and Kathy McQueen of Chester and Woodie Leon and Kay McQueen of Baytown; grandchildren and their spouses, Donna Marie and Andrew Porter of Crosby, Lisa Denise and Tracy Andrus of Mont Belvieu, Kelly Lynn and George Torres of Baytown, Jason and Monica Campbell and Jeff and Tish Campbell, all of Mont Belvieu; great grandchildren, Sydney and Emily Holifield, Carson, Keilan, and Kaci Andrus, twins, Hayden and Holden Porter, and twins, Josh and Maci Campbell; and special sister-in-law, Iris Griswold.

In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to Odyssey Hospice Care, 1600 James Bowie Dr., Baytown, TX 77520 and/or St. James House, 5800 W. Baker Rd., Baytown, TX 77520.

Her family would like to express their most heartfelt appreciation to the Odyssey Hospice crisis team that worked with Mrs. McQueen at St. James House this past week. Their thanks also go out to the employees who helped care for her there, especially Margie Holifield, Sylvia Jeffries, and Trish Roberts.
