Richard served his country in the Navy and was a lifetime member of Bass Anglers Sportsman Society.
He is survived by his two children, son, Caymon Hamel, and daughter, Mary Anna Gannon; and two sisters, Rebecca Hamel and Elizabeth Hamel.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 29, 2016 starting at 5:00pm with a memorial service beginning at 7:00pm at Earthman Funeral Home.
