Ricardo Espinosa, 87, of Channelview, Texas, passed August 25, 2024. Ricardo Espinosa was born to Jose Dolores Espinosa and Genoveva Serrano on April 13,1937 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1956 and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Oklahoma University in 1971. He married Socorro Munoz in June 02, 1959 and they lived together in Houston, Texas. Together they raised six children. He was preceded in death by his wife Socorro Espinosa and his parents Genoveva Serrano and Jose Dolores Espinosa.
Ricardo is survived by his beloved cat Angel, Yvonne Espinosa-Greenidge and husband Michael Greenidge, Yvette Espinosa and wife Josie Espinosa, Melian Ng Ponce and husband Herbie Ponce, Mark Ng and wife Ellen Ng, Wegin Ng and wife MaryAnn Ng, Belen Olascoaga and husband Balbino Olascoaga and his sister Nina Garcia.
Ricardo was known as Grandpa and Gpa to many of his grandchildren. He has 23 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. The one closest to his heart and was his world is Aubrey Espinosa.
Ricardo worked as a maintenance manager for US Postal Service, North Houston Mail Processing Center for 43 years. He loved spending time with his family. Ricardo loved to listen to Spanish music and dancing. He had various hobbies. He enjoyed exploring his family tree doing genealogy research. He enjoyed gardening, stamp collecting, coin collecting, and traveling. He was also actively involved in volunteering for the church and donated to various charitable organizations.
Pallbearers will be Wegin Ng, Mark Ng, Jason Valenzuela, Michael Espinosa, Jordan Rohne and Nathan Rohne.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Yvette Espinosa and Michael Greenidge.
A visitation for Ricardo will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1124 Beech Street, Baytown, Texas, 77520. Ricardo will be laid to rest in Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598.
