Remedios Vargas Cabrera

Remedios is preceded in death by her husband Vicente Cabrera, son John Cabrera and her siblings Ascencion Vargas Soto, Mary Vargas Rodriguez, Josefa Vargas, Benita Hernandez, Guadalupe Vargas Flores, Mateo Vargas, Teodoro Vargas, and Anselmo Vargas.

She married Vicente Cabrera on July 10, 1954, and started a family in Navasota, Texas. Later, moved to Baytown, Texas where it became home to her eleven children.

She is cherished by her surviving children Richard, Robert, Julian, Alice, Frank, Vicente, Jr., Felix, Joe, Samuel, and Adam. Also, 27 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Remedios’ joy in life included sitting outside with her morning coffee, dancing to her favorite music, sewing, crocheting, and making the most delicious tortillas! She especially loved spending time with family. She was a strong presence and brought a smile to those who knew her.

She was loved by everyone and will be truly missed by her family and friends. We find comfort in the hearts that Remedios touched and will live on through those whom she has left behind…

Services will be held at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown on Friday, May 5, 2023. Public visitation will begin at 10 to 11a.m. and funeral service at 11 to 12 p.m. Immediately following to the burial site located in Navasota, Texas.

Pallbearers: Andrew Contreras, Alphonzo Cabrera, Dwayne Cabrera, Isaiah Cabrera, Joey Cabrera, Jason Cabrera, and Michael Cabrera.
