Paula D. Goodson

Paula Darlene Goodson of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the age of 66. She was born in Baytown, Texas, on January 12, 1959, to Roy Raymond and Vera Belle Goodson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Vera Belle Goodson, and her brother-in-law, Wayne C. Buckley.

She is survived by 2 sisters, Linda R. Enck and husband Ray; Phyllis J. Buckley; 1 brother Bill Goodson and wife Janette; 7 nieces and 14 great nieces and nephews.

Though she has left this world, the memories of her life and the journey she walked will remain with us always.

From an early age, Paula was introduced to faith, growing up at First Baptist Church in Old Baytown, where she learned about the love of Jesus. Though life took her on different challenging paths, she found her way back to Him in the end, rediscovering the grace and peace that only God can provide. As John 3:16 reminds us:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Beyond her faith, Paula found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved to cook, pouring her heart into every meal she made. She found peace in fishing, patience in drawing, and excitement in the game of softball. These were the things that brought her happiness, and they are the things we will remember her by.

Though she often walked her own path, she was never truly alone—God was with her every step of the way. In her final years, she embraced His love again, and we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace, cradled in His everlasting arms.

Rest well, Paula. You have found your way home. Give Mother/Grandmama and Daddy/Granddaddy a hug for us.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521.
