Paul Tilton Williams, 87, of Mont Belvieu, Texas passed away Monday, June 10, 2024. He was born in Cedar Bayou, Texas on October 9, 1936 to Ross and Ingre Williams. He was married to Susie Williams, his middle school sweetheart, for 43 years. Paul spent his entire life dedicated to his family, community, and church.
Paul considered his many friends and neighbors as his family members. His life was rich with memories deeply rooted in relationships at Barbers Hill that shaped his legacy. If there was a sporting event or Barbers Hill activity he was there. There was no one with more school pride and spirit. What a tribute to his honor and contributions to the schools that a baseball field has been named in his honor. His veins were permanently injected with blue when he was born.
He served his community faithfully and honestly for 34 years as the Honorable Paul T. Williams Justice of the Peace. He loved to tell of his days of being on the bench. Many a tale would end with a generous heart and kind spirited punishment for a youngster who may have chosen to skip school or drive a little over the speed limit.
Paul was a faithful follower of the Church of Christ faith. He was a founding father of a local Church of Christ fellowship with his brother. Despite his failing health, attending worship on Sunday meant everything to him. During his last years he would attend in his wheelchair and want to stand each time the congregation stood. When he could no longer read the scripture from his bible he listened on tape and was so proud to have read the bible through three times.
Along with church and community Paul was a devoted family man to his immediate and extended family. Cheering them on through all walks of life and always by their side. A simple obituary cannot fully encapsulate Paul’s life, but it serves as a tribute to a man who was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. Paul’s life story is a vivid picture of dedication and service, leaving others inspired by his leadership and devotion.
Paul was the last of the five Williams boys. He was preceded in death by brothers Everett, Doug, and Rollie Williams and Clay Fouts. He is survived by daughter, Susan Fregia and devoted son-in-law, Michael of Anahuac Texas; son, Allen Ueckert, of Houston Texas. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Billy Fregia and wife Deb, Saundra Cardenas and husband Adrian, and Andrew Ueckert; 4 great grandchildren- Trey Kulish, Raven Cardenas, and Hannah and Cora Fregia; one precious sister-in-law, Bethul Williams, and, a host of nieces and nephews that he adored dearly.
