Mavis ""MeMaw"" Maurine Campbell Cobb, 94, of Baytown, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 in Baytown. She was born June 3, 1921 in Telaco, Texas to her late parents, Howell F. Campbell and Ida Bell Jolly Campbell.
She was a longtime resident of Baytown and member of Central Baptist Church, was a full-time homemaker, seamstress, volunteered with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, taught senior girls' Sunday school classes and created greeting cards and other stamp art stationery.
Mrs. Cobb was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rollan S. Cobb; sisters, Ruby Ray Hines and her husband Robert, and Juanita Whitehead and her husband Raymond; brother-in-law, W. O. ""Buddy"" Owens and son-in-law Bill Cole.
Survivors include her sister, Lillian Campbell Owens of Little Rock, AR; daughters, Cynthia ""Cindy"" Hollister Cole of Cleburne and Melanie Carol Taylor and her husband Steve of Austin; son, Gary Cobb and his wife Jan of Baytown; grandchildren, Ashlee Leanne Cobb of Dallas, Jennifer Cobb Hux and her husband Jeremy of Kyle and Dan Harper Hollister of North Richland Hills, and a great-granddaughter, Harper Grace Hux; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Navarre Funeral Home with a service to follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Wells officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the Houston National VA Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the building fund at Central Baptist Church.
