Maurine Mangogna Hernandez, 98, of Baytown, passed from this world peacefully at St. James House in Baytown, on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010. Momma Maurine was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She always enjoyed serving ethnic food to all family and friends. She was a beautiful woman who really enjoyed her family. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for over 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Adolph Hernandez, three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Annette Barber and husband Buddy and Regina Harlan and husband Jerry; grandchildren, Karen Hill-Vasquez and husband Michael, Keith Hill, Angie Johnston and husband Glen, Bruce Harlan and wife Dina, Michele Dare and husband Brian, Tate Barber and wife Kathryn; 19 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. James House and Hospice Compassus for their care and compassion.
The family will recite the Rosary at 6:00 p.m., Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Earthman Funeral Home. Visitation will follow from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1907 Carolina St. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
