Matthew Jay Cisneros

Matthew Jay Cisneros, 59 of Dayton, TX was born on October 21, 1955, in San Benito, TX and returned to dwell with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 25, 2015, surrounded by his loved ones at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX.

Matthew Jay was a very generous and caring person. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. One of his favorite traditions was to have breakfast with his brothers on Saturday mornings. For over 35 years he worked as a crane operator and took pride in his work. He loved to go deep sea fishing and always had a smile on his face. He was always willing to help those in need and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Emily Elizabeth Cisneros and brother, Frank Charles Cisneros.

Matthew Jay Cisneros is survived by his wife of 18 years, Brenda Cisneros; daughter, Racheal Mercer and husband Roger; sons, M.J. (Matt) Jr. Cisneros and wife Amanda, Matthew James Cisneros and wife Elvia, and Mark Anthony Cisneros and wife Shanna; stepdaughter, Nicola Williams; stepson, Barrie Williams; father, Matthew Celso Cisneros; brothers, Ray Cisneros, Mike Cisneros, John Cisneros, and Robert Cisneros; sisters, Sharon Cortez and Trisha Rojas; grandchildren, Macie Cisneros (16), Brylor Cisneros (13), Hunter Bourgeois (12), Kyson Cisneros (6), Avery Cisneros (5), Gabby Mercer (5), Maleana Cisneros (5), Maddox Cisneros (2), Holly Copeland (20), and Samuel Cisneros (17).

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015, from 5pm to 8pm at Navarre Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, January 30, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Pastor Dave McLennan officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Baytown, Texas.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Brylor Cisneros, Roland Cisneros, Michael Cisneros, Jr., Ryan Cisneros, Carlos Ramirez, Samuel Cisneros and honorary pallbearer Mark Mullins.
