Mary Ellen Rios, 69 of Baytown entered the gates of Heaven on Thursday, September 24th, 2020. Mary was born in Curtis Ohio to Jesus and Andrea Gonzalez on May 20th, 1951. She was a devoted wife to Pedro ‘“Pete” Rios and was an amazing mother, grandmother and beautiful friend.
Mary co-owned Rios Construction & Roofing, Rio RV Park, as well as multiple rental properties. She embodied an innate giving spirit and was born with a magical heart of gold. Whether it was kind words, a warm hug, a thoughtful gift, or delicious food, Mary was always there to shower her family and friends with tokens of love. This passion for giving extended to everyone and anyone she met ~and she never met a stranger. That constant giving to others fed her soul. She truly loved the relationships she built and established many lifelong friendships through the years.
As a loving wife, Mary and Pete shared 49 wonderful years of marriage. Those years were full of love and lots of laughter. Their love, commitment and devotion to one another allowed them to raise wonderful children in a home filled with constant love and support. Mary was blessed with many artistic talents. She had a gift for interior decorating and home remodeling. These were hobbies she often shared with family and friends. She also had a huge passion for shopping on QVC and those daily deliveries often meant that heart of gold of hers was yet again gifting to others. Together with her husband, Mary especially enjoyed cheering for the Astros, Texans, Steelers, dancing to the oldies, and above all, family time. You could always find Mary feeding her family every day at lunch ~it is a tradition that will forever be treasured.
As a devoted mother and grandmother, Mary cherished special times spent with her family. She was a constant provisional light of unconditional love, support, guidance, commitment and made every effort to create wonderful memories to last a lifetime. Whether it was attending birthday parties, graduations, extra circular activities, or family events, she made every effort to make each moment special and memorable. Her family was her proudest accomplishment in life. As a relative and special friend to so many, her love for life and beautiful smile will always remain engrained in the memories of those who were graced to have known her.
