Mary Janelle ""Nell"" Murray, 79, of Wimberley, went to be with Jesus on Friday, September 8, 2017 at her home in Wimberley. She was born August 26, 1938 in Huntsville to Robert and Dove Bishop. She grew up in Highlands and was very active in church at First Baptist Church of Highlands. She attended Robert E. Lee High School and graduated in 1956. She married Mike Murray in December of 1956. They owned and operated The Quack Shack and Murray's Family Restaurant. Nell loved baking for the people in her community; her favorites were rolls and pies. She also loved to sing and play gospel music on her piano when she wasn't busy in her garden. Mike and Nell retired from the restaurant business in 1996 and moved to Wimberley.
She leaves behind, her husband of 60 years, Mike Murray; son, Jimmy Murray, son Patrick Murray and wife, Yvette, daughter Michelle Ware and husband, Robbie; granddaughters, Courtney Clanton and Bethany Dequeant; grandsons, Benjamin Ware, Matthew Moake, Jace-Michael Ware, Andrew Ware, and Zachary Murray; a sister, Barbara Carr; ten great-grandchildren along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dove Bishop; her daughters, Rhonda Jo and Dennise; and her great-granddaughter Kendra Clanton.
Her family will receive friends for visitation at Navarre Funeral Home on Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 5:00PM - 7:00PM. The funeral will be held at Navarre Funeral Home on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 2:00PM. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery in Baytown.
Serving as pallbearers will be Benjamin Ware, Jace-Michael Ware, Andrew Ware, Zachary Murray, Chris Dequeant, and Kevin Clanton. Matthew Moake will be an honorary pallbearer.
