Mary Lou ""Nana"" Hill, 69, was born on May 7, 1948, in Columbia, Tennessee, and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 15, 2017, after a lengthy illness. During her life, she went from being barely loved and impoverished, to being a Godly, great business lady.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Junior and Della Campbell, sister, Barbara Faye Beadle and father-in-law, Roy Hill.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie G. Hill, son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Shonda Hill, daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Cory Simpson, 5 grandchildren, Kyle, Kayla and Kristy Hill and Sophia and Dalton Simpson, 2 sisters, Peggy Crowley and Betty Morrow, mother-in-law, Sarah Hill, sisters-in-law, Barbara and husband Glenn Voss, Connie and husband David Olive and Becky Hill and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary and Ronnie came to Baytown in the early 1970's. Mary started out making Indian jewelry and from there she built her business into what it is today. Mary was also a home decorator and helped Ronnie remodel and decorate numerous homes for resale. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was loved by many and she loved hugely.
Mary was a member of the church of Christ and loved teaching the young children's Bible classes. She worked hard and pushed hard, all with God on her mind. She enjoyed coaching softball and loved supporting her children and grandchildren in all their sports activities. She loved to swim with the fishes like she was one. Mary and Ronnie enjoyed scuba diving together and traveling to many different places to explore the world under the sea.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Sterling White Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cory Simpson, Dalton Simpson, Scott Hill, Kyle Hill, Ricky Holloway and Dr. Jim Zaruba.
Officiating the service will be Zeke Flores, Marc Hinds and Jesse Flowers. Tim Johnson will lead the congregation in hymn.
