It is with both sadness and joy that Mary Lou Tschudy Davis of Baytown, TX, passed away on Wednesday, 24 January 2018. While she will be greatly missed, those who know Lou celebrate her passing as she rejoins loved ones and now abides in God’s presence.

Lou devoted her life to service to the Lord, her family and friends, and her community through active involvement with Memorial Baptist Church as a Sunday-school teacher, WMU member, nursery volunteer, and hostess for myriad church functions. She was a member of and served as President of the Houston Baptist University Guild. Lou also served on the Board of Directors of Baytown Symphony and as a President of Christian Women’s Association at the Goose Creek Country Club. She was also member of Baytown Junior Forum and the Wooster Garden Club.
Lou graduated with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design from University of Houston in 1976. She went on to partner with a group of area ladies in owning Contemporary Programs, Inc., consulting with businesses throughout the greater Houston area on business apparel and etiquette in the work place and co-authoring a book, The Contemporary Woman, a text on etiquette and social graces. Lou also worked for the Style Shoppe in Baytown, Isabell Gerhart’s furrier of Houston, and served as a fashion consultant with Doncaster.
Lou was preceded in death by her loving husband, James A. “Bitsy” Davis; her parents, Rev. and Mrs. B. C. Tschudy; her sister and brother-in-law, John and Peggy McIlvain of Hurst, TX, and their children Virgil Brunner McIlvain and Andrea Dunn; and her mother-in-law, Jessie Pauline Davis. The family will be holding a visitation and memorial service for Lou on Saturday afternoon, 27 January, at Memorial Baptist Church. Visitation will be in the church parlor at 1:00, and the service will begin at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Memorial Baptist’s mission program.
