Marian Ruth Brandon Claybaugh was born in Garber, Oklahoma on August 3, 1933. She passed away peacefully on December 14, 2016 at the age of 83 in Crosby, Texas following a long illness with Parkinson’s disease.
Predeceasing her were her parents Arthur Brandon and Louise White, and four siblings – Dixie, Cleta, Betty, and Gene. Surviving her is husband Dr. Bill Claybaugh and two daughters, Louise Brown and Jeanette Schade with husband David Schade DDS. Grandchildren include Dr. Kyle Brown with wife Catherine Dunlap, Dr. Kimberly Rogers with husband Trevor Rogers, and Eric Schrimsher with wife Kathleen Schrimsher. Marian’s great grandchildren are Elizabeth “Elsie” Brown and Thomas Brown.
Marian grew up in Oklahoma, and as an adult, lived in several states and traveled extensively throughout the world.
Marian enjoyed many interests including cooking, sewing, china painting, collecting antique furniture, pie baking and flower arranging. She held several positions of leadership in the Newport Garden Club and Federation of Garden Clubs of Houston, including President.
Marian wants to be remembered as someone who “always wanted to learn something new.”
The family is very grateful for the caregivers who have helped Marian during the past few years, Janet Coker and Mary Urban. Following cremation in Baytown, Texas coordinated by the Earthman Funeral Home, a memorial service for Marian is planned in Enid, Oklahoma.
