

Luther Harold ""Curly"" Lindley passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 at home in Baytown, TX surrounded by his family. He was born in Gunsight, TX on September 5, 1932. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956 in Germany. He retired from Exxon Company, U.S.A. with more than 20 years of service in the Mechanical Division. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family and friends. He loved working and spending time at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church. He could always be counted on by family and friends to help and always with a smile.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Martin Lindley and Katie Catherine Lindley; loving wives, Wanda Vernelle Lindley of 42 years and Mary Lavender Lindley of 11 years; and several brothers and a sister. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Lindley; son and daughter-in-law, Harold Jay and Tammy Lindley; grandchildren, Dustin and Courtney Lindley and Jayson Lindley; and great grandchildren, Bryce and Kelsey Lindley. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Elbert and Jerri Lindley and Carl and Imogene Lindley; sister, Rosalee Presley; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerrye Carey, Tommy Terry, Wanda Carey, Edwin and Joyce Carey, Gayle and Alva Carey, Joe and Dyann Conway, Charles Lavender, and Mark and Denise Lavender. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
His family will receive friends Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, 3116 N. Alexander Dr., Baytown, TX 77520 with Dr. Mark Broussard and Rev. Jeff Fuqua officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Lindley, Wayne Lindley, Britt Lindley, Eric Lindley, Jeremy Lindley, and Greg Terry. Honorary pallbearers will be the Cedar Bayou Baptist Church deacons and the Adult 6 Men's Sunday School Class.
