Lucila Cisneros Patton, 73, of Baytown, TX was born March 4, 1932 in Brownsville and passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at her home. After graduating from Brownsville High School, she received an Associate Degree at Texas Southmost College. She then attended the University of Texas at Austin where she received a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish, and also received a Teacher’s Permanent Certificate to teach all grades in the public schools of Texas.
She was a substitute teacher at Ross S. Sterling High School in Baytown for many years. She was a deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Baytown where she taught Sunday School classes, was active in Presbyterian Women, and was president of the Elizabeth Circle for several years. She enjoyed oil painting and was also an active member of P.E.O. and the Country Club Oaks Garden Club.
With her gentleness, warmth, and cheerful nature, Lucila created a happy home environment and developed many close friendships over the years.
Visitation will be at Navarre Funeral Home Friday, August 12, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Richard Kleiman officiating. Graveside services will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Peter Buenz, Don Murray, Carl Burg, Lowell Westerman, Bill Lucas, Jack Jackson, Mackey Skinner, Ray Patton, and Ryan Stoltz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leandro Cisneros and Macaria Lopez Cisneros; brothers, Alfonso (Al) Cisneros and Hector L. Cisneros; and son-in-law, Alan Stoltz and is survived by her husband, Tad L. Patton of Baytown, whom she married on November 22, 1952; daughter, Elizabeth Patton Stoltz of Clear Lake; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Carolyn Patton of Houston; grandchildren, Julie Stoltz, Ryan Stoltz, Lucy Patton, and Martha Patton; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
