Lorraine Patterson, who was born and raised in Victoria, TX, but has been a resident of Baytown, TX for over 40 years, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of January 23, 2017 at a care facility in Webster, TX. She was 87 and had been bravely dealing with health crises for some time. Her passing will be mourned but her life – and her moving on to her heavenly home after a long struggle – will be celebrated.
During her time on earth, Lorraine relished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister to those who she loved most. She was also an accomplished real estate broker for many years and an avid exercise walker well into her senior years. She enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening and most of all enjoying the company of her family and friends. Her husband’s career took them to various homes around the country but Baytown, TX was where she spent the last forty plus years of her life.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brothers Monroe Kovar, Leonard Kovar, and Allen Kovar; her husband of many decades Lee Roy “Pat” Patterson, and their daughter KaSandra Kay Messick. She is survived by her brother Joe “Jr” Kovar, as well as her grandchildren Amanda Lee Messick (along with her fiancé Jeremy Lauret) and Michael Ethan Messick (along with his wife Codey Messick) and her great-grandsons Luke Wayne Messick and Levi Grayson Messick, as well as a large extended family of nephews, nieces and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 10:00am with a visitation beginning at 9:30am in the Chapel of the Chimes at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Rd., Baytown, TX 77521.
