Lisa Yvette President-Brown, 50, of Fort Meade, MD, was born on Dec. 11, 1964, and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 16, 2015. She was born to Earline President in Chicago, IL. Lisa was baptized at an early age at Mt. Rose Baptist Church in Baytown, TX. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, TX, in 1982, and participated in volleyball, basketball and track. Lisa was a licensed Cosmetologist, an excellent homemaker; her passion was cooking and entertaining family and friends. Lisa never met a stranger.
Lisa married Mr. Al Haskins, and to this union two children were born; a daughter, Tiara Haskins and a son, Michael Haskins. In 2006, Lisa met and married husband, SSG. David E. Brown.
Lisa was preceded in death by her loving mother, Mrs. Earline Louis; her grandfather, Reggie President and grandmothers, Blanch President and Ivory Roan-President.
She is survived by her husband, SSG David E. Brown; daughter, Tiara Haskins; son, Michael Haskins, all of Ft. Meade, MD; two step-daughters, Diamond G. Brown and Keatra R. Brown; two brothers, Craig Louis Sr. and wife Beverly and Jason Amos and wife Nycole; aunts, Helen Thomas and husband Rev. Darnell, Sr., Joan Smith, Bobbie Hamilton, Elsie Eames and husband James, and Gladys Williams. Lisa and Gladys were and awesome mother and daughter team; they had an unbreakable bond and shared many visits, conversations and text messages. She even shared her most secret recipes with her “Aunt Gladys” as she fondly called her.
She is also survived by her uncles, Reggie E. President and wife Nadine, Welton Tucker, S.L. Roan and wife Vernell, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other family members, friends and acquaintances.
The family would like to give a heartfelt THANKS to Tonya Hebert (cousin/best friend) for her constant support while Lisa was here, and to Mrs. Elsie Eames (Aunt Mae) for you constantly being there for us, may the good Lord bless you always! Our sincere appreciation also goes to the Pastor of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Raphael D. Montgomery, for his availability to us in the last two weeks.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with services beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Earthman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
