Leslie is survived by her beloved husband Leonard Kurtz; children Kara and Jay Edwards, Lenee’ Pulver, Heather and Jason Thumann, Nicolas Kurtz, and Lucas and Haley Swarthout; grandchildren, Brianna Pulver, Haley Pulver and Baylee Crowther, Amberlee Wright and Luis Castillo, Carlee Wright, Emily Thumann, Brian Thumann, and Shane Swarthout. She also leaves behind 3 great grandchildren. Leslie is also survived by her sister Janet Covington, brother-in-law, Jon Covington, and her brother John Lewis and sister-in-law, Julie Lewis.
Leslie will be remembered for her unconditional love for her family. She loved country and western dancing in her husband’s arms from the moment they met and married. They always played their song, “Keeper of the Stars”. After her retirement from Lockheed Martin in 2005, Leslie and her husband, Leonard spent time vacationing. In particular, she loved living with him in Thailand and she became fast friends with everyone they met there. At home in the States, she loved having her children and family around her for dinners and pool parties, where all were invited including the children and grandchildren she’d “adopted”. Friends always became family for Leslie.
Leslie was an avid animal lover, at one time having up to five dogs and three turtles. There were also several birds, goats, and horses over her life. She leaves behind her loyal fur companions Little Man and Belle who were with her until the end.
We will miss her and love her and hope to one day see her again somewhere over the rainbow.
