LeRoy Boone age 86 passed away on June 11, 2021, at his granddaughter's home in Crosby Texas, where he lost his battle to cancer. He graduated from Cal Allen High School in Cal Allen Texas where he then went onto the U.S. Air Force and served 8 years as a communications technician. He moved to Baytown, Texas in 1973 with his family where he managed the Burger Chef restaurant and ran for City Council. He then later was hired on with Mundy and Company as a foreman, which led him to be hired by Exxon as a process technician for 25 years until he retired.
LeRoy served as deputy constable with his wife, serving under James L. Douglas Constable Precinct No. 3. He worked as a landscaper for Wiz Kids Daycare in Baytown Texas for 3 years and he has been a league bowler with Max Bowl East for 50 years. He also was on the board of directors and served as league secretary for many years.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Boone of Baytown, Texas; parents, William Boone and Meta Boone of Corpus Christi, and his brothers’ Bobby Boone Sr. and John Boone of Corpus Christi.
He is survived by his step-daughter Shelia Esson and son-in-law Randy Esson of California; daughter Debbie Boone of Baytown, and son Douglas Boone and daughter-in-law Dinora Boone of Baytown; his surviving sibling are sisters Jacque McBeth of Livingston, and Ann Burnside of Missouri and brother Elmer Boone of Corpus Christi. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Brandy Ramirez and grandson-in-law Chris Ramirez of Crosby, Texas, Kaleb Smith and wife Savanna Smith, Joe Smith and wife Kasey Smith of Crosby, Texas, Dalton Boone of Mont Belvieu, Texas, Ray Boone of Baytown Texas, and Travis Boone of Baytown, Texas.
He has 8 great grandchildren; Gabriel Ramirez, Alec Ramirez, Anderson Ramirez, Madison Ramirez of Crosby, Texas, Joseph Smith Jr. and Charlie Smith of Crosby, Texas, Earl Smith and Hunter Smith of New Caney, Texas and 1 on the way.
LeRoy was a great father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family was important to him and anyone he knew was treated like family. He was known as everyone's PAWPAW not just to his family. "Baytown's PAWPAW!"
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 17 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 18 at 10:00AM at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
