With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Lee Harrison LaCour, who departed this life on March 16, 2025 at the age of 69. Lee was born on September 26, 1955, in Augusta, Georgia to Dorothy and Leo LaCour. He was a man of steadfast dedication, quiet wisdom, and unwavering love for his family.
A tireless and devoted worker, Lee exemplified commitment and integrity in all that he did. His greatest joy was found on the water. Nearly every weekend, he could be found aboard his beloved boat-a prize won through his skill and deep passion for fishing-immersed in the serenity of the open water. Whether sharing stories of the past, explaining the intricacies of how things were made, or waking before dawn for a day on the boat, he had a true gift for making even the simplest moments meaningful.
He was first married to Susett, with whom he built a life filled with love and devotion for 23 years until her passing. Later on, he found companionship again and remarried Denise, who stood by his side in his final chapter. He was a beloved father and grandfather whose presence left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. His signature mustache, quiet strength, and endless trove of knowledge will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Denise; daughters, Debra and Carolyn; step children, Laticia and Alfred; brother and sister, Bill and Marie; grandchildren, Blake, Whitney, Dakota, Kaitlyn, Sarenity, and Everett; great-grandchildren, Lillian, Gabriel, Kylan, Oliver, Waylon, and Kanyn. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Leo; wife, Susett; brother, James; son's, Lee, Jr. and Anthony; and grandson, Caleb.
A service honoring Lee will be held at 11AM, on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown, Texas, with visitation beginning at 10AM. In remembrance of his love for the water, the family invites you to spend a peaceful moment by a lake or river and celebrate his life in the way he would have most enjoyed.
Though he has set sail on his final journey, his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
