I’m so sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. He was a great guy and even better police officer. My thoughts & Prayers are with his family during this difficult time. It’s easy to see his brother is Ted, cause I’ve known him along time too, and think alot of him. Thank you for your service and friendship, rest easy.

There wasn't a whole lot of tears that I saw today, and I know the reason why.   There is something comforting about a life well lived.  A life filled with love and laughter, responsibility and purpose, and yes, faith.   I know the guys in my family are better MEN because of the example that was set by our Uncle Larry.   Today instead of mourning the loss of someone gone too soon who didn't reach their full potential and still had work to do, we nodded in approval and rejoiced in a life fully realized,  fully executed,  fully experienced, and whole.   What an amazing testimony to pass on to the next generation.   God no doubt told him "well done my good and faithful servant" and we couldn't agree more....well done Uncle Larry.  Rest now in love.

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. And he delighteth in his way.”  Psalm 37:23.   I have known Larry for most of his life, from the time he was still living at home with his parents in Arizona to the time he married my baby sister, Cheryl, in Houston, to the time of his home going this week. He has consistently been one of the good men through all those years. He was a gentle giant, loving hard, caring deeply, fighting fiercely for all that is right and good, offering that genuine smile to all he met, showing all of us how to accept and show grace in the toughest of circumstances. To say I will miss him does not even begin to portray what I feel.  His home was always open to us, his coffee pot was always ready to share, and his laughter was always just one joke away. Thank you for a life well lived, Larry, and thank you for making my sister the center of your world, the absolute love of your life for 50 years.  Thank you for showing your children and grandchildren what true love looks like, and thank you for your gentle, quiet spirit that accompanied the warrior you truly are. You have been a wonderful brother-in-law to me and David, and we look forward to seeing you again when the Lord is finished with us here. Love always. 

Larry was one of the “good guys”…consistently kind, caring, and thoughtful to family, friends, and strangers alike.  Both by the words of his testimony and by the example of his life, we have no doubt that he was carried by the angels straight into the presence of Jesus when he left this life!  Rest In Peace, Larry!  You will be missed! We love you!

I am cousin Barry Lewis And want to express my condolences to his family. The last memory I had of Larry is when he came to my dads funeral and as he seen me he says you remember who I am and I said yes how could I forget you and your kindness/loving personality. May god keep and comfort you all during this time of sorrow. 

Uncle Larry was one of the first men in my life to demonstrate love that was steady, kind, and unashamed. I’m so thankful to have known him. He was my favorite person to sit next to when family gatherings got too loud or overwhelming.   I already miss his gentle, quiet, easy presence.
