Kenneth Dwayne ""Ken"" Skaggs, 56, beloved son of Henry J. and Edith S. Skaggs, was born September 28, 1956 in Sherman, TX and passed from his parents and friends arms into his Heavenly father's on Friday, January 18, 2013. Ken was a carpenter until retraining at Lee College for a new career as a millwright. He served in the U. S. Army for two years, service that he was very proud of.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry J. and Beatryce Skaggs and Thomas Carroll and Elsie Cogburn. He is survived by his parents; sisters and brother-in-law, Sandra Erle and Carol Lynn and John A. Jenkins; brother, Anthony Skaggs; and nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory Asher and Brenda Martin.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Mont Belvieu, 10110 Eagle Dr., Mont Belvieu, TX 77580 with Rev. Jake Porter officiating. A private graveside service with military honors will take place in the Houston National Cemetery.
Ken's mom and dad would like to say a special ""thank you"" to the doctors at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center who fought Ken's cancer so valiantly and all of the good people at the Harbor Hospice of Baytown. Thank you again.
