Joy Alyne Ussery Elliott, 90 formerly of Baytown, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, August 16, 2020. She was born in Gonzales, Texas on March 15, 1930 to Nora Cowey Ussery and Otis Ussery. Joy’s family moved to Pelly, Texas when she was a child and she never left Baytown until moving to “The Cottages” for Alzheimer care in Round Rock, Texas.
Joy’s life was spent making a wonderful home for her family and serving delicious home-cooked meals, especially her chicken and dumplings. She had a servant’s heart and deep devotion to God. Joy prided herself on being a Sunday school teacher where she had perfect attendance for 42 years. She was a long time member of Central Assembly of God in Baytown, Texas before moving to Trinity Tabernacle Church in Baytown, Texas. Joy loved spending time with her seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Joy was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years B.B. Elliott Jr., her parents Nora and Otis Ussery, sister, Wilyne Sicko, twin sister Erlyne Byrd and baby brother. She is survived by her children, Arlene Campbell and husband Fred, Burl Elliott and wife Sharon, Becky Blake and husband Shon; grandchildren, Gary Campbell and wife Jessica, Kelley Campbell-Conner and husband Danny, Joey Campbell and wife Ashley, Cindy VanCleave and husband Mark, Steven Weaver, Dusty Elliott, Dee Berlin and husband Bryson; great-grandchildren, Coy Campbell, Ashley Campbell, Alex Conner, Caden Conner, Joshua Campbell, Landon Weaver, Ellie VanCleave, Tori VanCleave, Hunter Kinder and wife Kaitlyn, Brayden Kinder, Keilyn Berlin, Brylan Berlin; great-great grandchildren, Ryder Kinder, Huntley Kinder; and numerous friends.
Honoring Joy as pallbearers are grandsons, Gary Campbell, Dusty Elliott, Joey Campbell; great-grandsons, Hunter Kinder, Brayden Kinder, Coy Campbell.
