Joshua Wesley Reed, departed for his heavenly journey on Tuesday October 10, 2023, at the age of 26. He was surrounded by many family members and friends at San Jacinto Hospital in Baytown, Texas. The same hospital he was born in on July 9, 1997.
Joshua had a very sweet, kind and gentle soul. He also had a heart as big as Texas and a smile to back it up. Everyone will remember that smile. His mother always referred to him as a golden heart. Joshua truly had a golden heart, as many of you that knew him will attest to that fact.
Joshua was a wonderful person - a good friend - a strong listener - and very committed to friends and family. Growing up on the Texas Gulf Coast he was an avid fisherman. He loved being outdoors. He loved all football and was an amazing stats guy. Joshua was very social and outgoing. He absolutely loved hanging out and being around people, anytime, anywhere. He looked at everyone as family. This trait, he inherited from his grandmother, Ann Street, who he also shares the same birthday with in July.
Joshua's contagious smile is already deeply missed. HEAVEN called a good one home and we will all miss him.
Joshua is survived by his loving mother who was at his side ‘till the end, Robin R. Reed of Beach City, Texas. His father Patrick Harris and wife Monica Harris of La Porte, Texas. His brother Joe R. Chavers and wife Diamond Scott Chavers of Tarkington, Texas. His nieces, Madilyn Jo Chavers and Kori Grace Chavers. His grandparents, Mr. Dick Street and Mrs. Virginia Ann Street of Mont Belvieu, Texas. His Aunt Gayla and Uncle Michael Wingate of Livingston, Texas. Who he lived with for many years and was able to create special strong bonds. First cousins, Jon Paul Townsend of Crockett, Texas and Jason Townsend of Mont Belvieu.
Jerome (Jerry) Macha - His uncle who he was raised up with and thought of him as “Dad”. They, too, formed deep and lasting bonds. This will include the entire Macha family of Baytown, Texas, as he looked at them, lovingly, as his own family.
Uncle Joel and Aunt Terrie DiGulio of Pasadena, Texas. First cousins, Jordyn Sebastian, Jaclyn DiGulio, Joel Mark DiGulio, Jr., all of Friendswood, Texas. Uncle Charlie and Aunt Holli of Beach City, Texas. First cousins Brandon Brock of Crosby, Texas, Ryan Brock of Mont Belvieu and all aunts, uncles, cousins and relatives from Crockett, Texas.
He is also survived by many friends of his recovery fellowship in Baytown Texas - - - Thank you all - - - for showing love and kindness to Joshua in the midst of his pain the last few years. Too many to list - you know who you are - for love and tolerance is our code.
One more SMILE for Joshua as he enters into heaven's gates. We that are here have a promise from the Holy Bible, that we who live our lives by the word of God, will get to see him AGAIN one day in glory. WHAT A PROMISE ❤️ WHAT A GOD. So with that being said, we celebrate you today Joshua! You will be forever loved and missed. ❤️
