Jose served in the US Army for 3 years, during which he served in the Korean War. He was a welder for the City of Baytown and worked on the boats for the shipyard. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved spending time with his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor that will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Santos and Isabel Gomez Hinojosa; and daughters, Ninfa Torres and Martha Torres.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rosario Hinojosa; sons, Joseph Hinojosa, Joe Manuel Hinojosa, and Christopher Hinojosa; daughters, Yolanda Hinojosa, Julia Aguilera, Lisa Uresti and husband Roland Uresti, Maria Davila and husband Jesus Davila Jr.; sister, Lupe Peña; 29 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Richard Garcia Jr., Christian Aguilera, Jesus Davila III, Mark Garcia, Isaiah Hinojosa, and Francisco Casco, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Uresti and Christopher Hinojosa.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. at Earthman Funeral Home.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1124 Beech St., Baytown, TX 77520. The procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the mass at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Rd., Baytown, TX 77521.
