Johnny Gonzales fought the good fight and finished his race surrounded by his family on May 29, 2022. He was born in Baytown, Texas on June 9, 1940, to Antonio and Carmelita Coy Gonzales. Johnny married the love of his life, Norma Bravo Gonzales and shared 65 years of marriage. Johnny served his country proudly in the US Army and US Army Reserves and completed his career as a Production Operator upon his retirement from Lubrizol Corporation in Deer Park, Texas.
Johnny’s greatest accomplishment and joy was his family, including 26 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He enjoyed the adventure of traveling to visit them throughout the country, and enjoyed his hobbies of woodworking, gardening, cooking and the never-ending grass cutting.
He is preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Carmelita Gonzales, brothers Antonio and Octaviano Gonzales, daughter Veronica Gonzales Reece, and grandson Jonathan Dylan Gonzales.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife Norma, his son Jesse and wife Loretta Gonzales; his son Roland Gonzales; his son David Lee and wife Michele Gonzales; and his daughter Ida and husband Patrick Perez. He is also survived by his sister Gloria Martinez and son-in-law Scott Reece.
Serving as Pallbearers for their grandfather will be Jeremy Gonzales, Jeffrey Gonzales, Adrian Gonzales, Juan Gonzales, Jordan Reece, Joshua Perez and Jason Perez; and Honorary Pallbearers will be Roland Gonzales Jr., Nicholas Gonzales and Joseph Reece.
