John Pat Staples, age 68 of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023. He was born in Baytown on October 25, 1954 to Joy Andrew Staples and Pat Braziel Staples. John is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Joy Andrew "Drew" Staples, Jr.
John was a Robert E. Lee High School Class of 1973 graduate. After graduation, he entered into a career in Construction Supervision which kept him busy traveling the country. Later, John decided to change careers and went back to school at Stephen F. Austin University, attaining his degree in Education. He then began his teaching career at Cedar Bayou Jr. School where he taught history and government. John liked to hunt and fish. His favorite past time however, was watching college football, especially his favorite team the "Texas Longhorns."
John is survived by his first cousins Julianne Braziel Richardson of Cleburne, Texas; Janalisa Braziel Soltis of College Station, Texas; and Jeremy Braziel of Steamboat, Colorado.
