Joe McAdams, 82, of Baytown, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2008 at his residence. He was born August 23, 1925 in Leon County to his late parents, Lester McAdams and Josephine Hill McAdams, lived in Baytown since 1973, graduated from Lee High School and was a member of Old River Baptist Church
Joe served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, was a retired pipe foreman from Brown & Root, had also worked for Humble Oil for 18 years, was an avid outdoorsman and handyman and had a wonderful sense of humor with a knack of making everyone laugh.
Mr. McAdams was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Arley R. McAdams.
Survivors include his wife, Amy McAdams of Baytown; son, Joey McAdams and his wife Toni of Baytown; daughter, Janelle McAdams Boudreaux of Baytown; brother, Richard C. McAdams and his wife Donna of Florida; sister-in-law, Sylvia McAdams of Kingwood; grandchildren, David Boudreaux, Carlie Clayton, Lori McAdams and Cory McAdams; great-grandchildren, Shelby Boudreaux, Gavin Clayton and Cullen Clayton; aunt and uncle, Jean and Carl Collins of Baytown; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Buster.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at the Navarre Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the Old River Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Biddy officiating. Burial will follow at the Houston National Veteran Affairs Cemetery under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Baytown.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Cory McAdams, David Boudreaux, Thomas Clayton, Blake McAdams, Brad Pace and Jimmy McHugh.
