Joe Edward Bernal

Joe Edward Bernal, 75, left this earthly world on November 3, 2022, while surrounded by his family. Joe was born in Baytown, Texas on November 30, 1946 to Ruben J. and Mary B. Martinez. He married Terry on December 22, 1977.

Joe worked for the US Postal Service where he retired in December 2010. Joe had a passion for fishing, watching sports, dancing and music.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Miguel and Francisca Bernal, parents Ruben and Mary Martinez, sister Dymphna Theresa Martinez and brother Ruben Martinez, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Terry Bernal; sons Gene and (Melody) Hildebrandt; Thomas Hildebrandt and Micah and (Lindsey) Bernal; brothers Michael and (Denise) Martinez, Jesse Martinez, Richard Martinez; sisters: Irma and (Jose) Montes, Mary Evangelina and (Frank) Rodríguez Jr., Patricia Ann and (Aurelio) Sanchez Sr.; grandchildren Trace Bernal (Taylor), Troy Bernal (Mackenzie), Alyssa Bernal, Jamie Tamayo Jr. (Daisy), Joshua Hildebrandt, Melody Hildebrandt, Gene H. Hildebrandt and great grandchildren Hendrix Bernal, Kinsley Bernal, Eli Payne and Liam Payne; nieces/nephews Crystal and (Jason) Redden, Michael and (Dorothy) Martinez Jr., Elizabeth and (Daniel) Contreras, Joaquin and (Tracy) Montes, Jose and (Jenny) Montes, Christopher Martinez, Francisco and (Amada) Rodriguez III, Mark Martinez, Aurelio and (Kelly) Sanchez Jr., Priscilla and (Ray) Garcia, Alisha and (Ricky) Rodriguez.

Serving as pallbearers: Trace Bernal, Troy Bernal, Frankie Rodriguez, Michael Martinez Jr., Aurelio Sanchez Jr., Jose Montes, Joaquin Montes and Ray Garcia.

A visitation for Joe will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1907 Carolina Ave, Baytown, TX 77520.
