Jo Dickerson, 85, of Mont Belvieu was born June19, 1930, in Barbers Hill and passed away at home Wednesday, February 3, 2016. She was a 1948 graduate of Barbers Hill High School, where she was a member of the girls' basketball team. In her younger days, she was a barrel racer and quite the dancer. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Baytown and she enjoyed oil painting and travelling all over the United States with her late husband doing Gourd Crafting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ula and Birdie Sutton; husband, Perry Dickerson; sisters, Mabel Fitzgerald, Thelma Dillard, and Ruby Best; son, Tracey Sutton Dickerson; son-in-law, Pat McCune; and grandchildren, Joella Leigh Dickerson and Patrick B. McCune II. She is survived by her daughter, Laura McCune of Mont Belvieu; grandchildren and their spouses, Jeremy and Jeanie Wilson of Clear Lake and Casey McCune and Kristen Lotspeich of Baytown; great grandchildren, Tracey Merino, Noah Hopkins, Macie McCune, Kinley McCune, Piper Wilson, and soon to arrive, Wyatt Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be Saturday, February 6, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Leroy Stevens officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rob Schmadl, Chris Schmadl, David Geisendorff, Jason Goodwin, Mike Land, Wes Klaus, and Tommy Emanuel.
