Jimmy Oliver

Jimmy Oliver, 48, of Barbers Hill was born December 24, 1963 in Baytown and passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012, in a Houston hospital surrounded by family and friends. He was a graduate of Barbers Hill High School and was a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo BBQ Committee and the Trinity Valley Exposition Livestock Committee. He enjoyed being outside and helping young people with their livestock projects.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Randall ""Pete"" Oliver and mother, Kathy Oliver. He is survived by his wife, Karen Oliver and children, Tifani Danielle Oliver and Thomas ""Randy"" Randall Oliver, all of Barbers Hill, and James Dean Oliver of Fort Worth and Patricia Gail Young of Sacramento, CA; sister, Briget Oliver Redmon of Barbers Hill; 6 grandchildren; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charlie and Jane Newsom of Highlands; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charlie and Diana Newsom, Jr. of Highlands, BeBe and Michael Hobbs of Jones Creek, Bull and Tracey Newsom of Cove, and Brenda and Justin Miller of Mont Belvieu; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, June 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Biddy officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bull Newsom, Charlie Newsom, Jr., Bill Speer, David Anders, Doug Going, Kent Cochran, Chris Lamon, and Clint Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny May, Kevin Speer, Shelton Kelsey, Carl ""Dog"" Downs, and members of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo BBQ Committee.
