Jeffrey James Redmond, Jr., 83, of Baytown, TX began life September 27, 1922 in Orange, the first son of Jeffrey and Marguerite Redmond. His family moved to Baytown where he attended school and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Jean Webster in 1943. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary last November.
He served his country during World War II as a Corporal in the U. S. Army in Burma and China. For this service, he was awarded two Bronze Stars. He returned home in 1945 and he and Jean started their family in 1946 and were blessed with three daughters.
Jeffrey was fortunate to land a job at Humble Oil and Refining, now known as ExxonMobil, where he worked for 38 years in the instrument department.
Jeffrey has made many friends over the years, but his real love was for his family. He loved to travel and over the years took his family to the western states, Canada, and Alaska, where he enjoyed the beautiful scenery. He and Jean also enjoyed several overseas vacations.
He became interested in a relationship with God and prayed to receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior just this past December. In January, he became ill and endured a long hospitalization before passing away Friday, March 31, 2006 at home with his family at his side.
We are grieving today at our loss, but celebrating with him as he has entered his eternal rest with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
