Janet Marie Martinez

August 17, 2019, peacefully at her home.

She is survived by her daughter Jennifer L. Martinez, grandson Christion W. Martinez,

son-in-law Joshua Cunningham, and husband for 36 years of life, Mike C. Martinez; her siblings

Michael J. Mora (Mary), Cynthia A. Hawkins (John), Melinda M. Garza (Sam), Gerard A Mora

(Christina), and James V. Mora (Gabriela), along with many nephews, nieces, and other

extended family.

She rejoins her son Mike Ryan Martinez, and her parents Mike Levire Mora and Josephine Mae

Jimenez Mora, who preceded her in passing.

A vibrant mother and grandmother, Janet had a passion for cooking, music, art, movies, and

was herself irrepressibly creative. She had an infectious personality, and could make a best

friend out of anyone. She loved helping those in need, whether a friend, stranger, or especially a

stray animal - touching the lives of countless people, and making her daily mission the care of

her menagerie of animal companions. One of a kind, her presence will be missed by each and

every one of them.

Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m., Thursday, August 22, 2019, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521, with the memorial service to follow and begin at 3 p.m.
