James V. Smith, 65, of Crosby was born December 30, 1939 in Baltimore, MD and passed away Thursday, December 22, 2005 in a local hospital. He was a Lab Technician at ExxonMobil Refinery, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was also a Reserve Deputy Constable for Harris County Precinct #3 for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Baytown Lodge #1357 AF & AM, Endowed Membership, Secretary, Past Master 1985, Golden Trowel Recipient 1997, and DDGM District 30 30-F 1999.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Dr. Richard Kleiman officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Smith, Roland Smith, David Moser, Dennis Novosad, Jeff McMichael, Scott Moore, Frank Rich Jr., and Charles Kilpatrick.
He is survived by his wife, Ann M. Smith of Crosby; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles L. and Kathleen Smith of Houston and Roland D. and Jennifer Smith of Walnut Grove, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Leigh Ann and Dennis Novosad of Crosby; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Wren of Leeds, AL and Joyce and Frank Rich of Birmingham, AL; and grandchildren, Kyle and Brenna Smith and Bradley, Krista, and Lyndon Novosad.
