James raised his family in Weirton, WV where he retired from Weirton Steel as a Bricklayer Foreman. James and his wife Fonda moved to Baytown, TX in 1990 to follow his children and grandchildren whose love and friendship he enjoyed until his calling home.
James served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict and was stationed at Fort Knox, KY among other bases.
James faithfully served his order of Masons and was the Past High Priest of the Royal Arch in Weirton, WV before he left for Texas. Family, hunting, music and golfing were among his many passions. His love for family stood as a lesson to all who knew him.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Della Sapp; brothers, Lawrence Sapp and wife Eloise Sapp, George (Frankie) Sapp, and Ralph Sapp; and sisters, Norma Lee Riter and husband Ray, and Florence Sapp.
James is survived by his wife of 57 years, Fonda Riter Sapp and his three children, Timothy Sapp and wife Tammy, Mickey Sapp and wife Jill, and Jeannie Doisy and husband David; brothers, Howard Sapp and wife Della Mae and Bud Sapp and wife Marie; sister, Georgia Allen and husband Terry; and sisters-in-law, Alice Sapp and Lola Sapp. James was also blessed with ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
We will be celebrating his life with a visitation to be held at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521 on Friday July 27, 2012 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Eagle Heights Fellowship at 14120 HWY 146, Dayton, TX 77535 on Saturday July 28, 2012 at 10 am.
