James Michael Mascorro ""Buster Nelson

James Michael Mascorro ""Buster"" Nelson, 45, of Dayton was born April 24, 1971, in Channelview and passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016. He was formerly a member of the Highlands Fire Department before joining the Channelview Fire Department, where he served as the fire chief for 9 years.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesse and Johnie Mascorro, Selma Smith, and Joe Nelson and uncle, Jesse Mascorro, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Paula Nelson; son, Jesse Nelson; daughter, Caitlyn Nelson; parents, Joe F. Nelson and Lois and Karl Kirkwood; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe B. Nelson, Jeremy L. and Shannon Nelson, Jonathan Nelson, and Justin and Mandy Nelson; sister and brother-in-law, Jamie and A. J. Albritton; grandson, Elijah Lee Mayes Nelson; mother-in-law, Carolyn T. Parker; and numerous other family members.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, June 3, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Maranatha Church, 12319 Highway 146, Mont Belvieu, TX 77580.
