Elton earned an Associate Degree and retired after a lengthy career from DuPont Chemical. He served his country in the Army for 2 years and was honorably discharge in May 1961.
Elton was an avid sports fan. He played on a senior baseball team for many years and watched everything from football to NASCAR. He loved going to high school sports games even after his children and grandchildren graduated. He developed many interests over the years including raising cattle, photography, learning to play the banjo and trying to restore his 1957 Chevy. Elton’s many friends and family will cherish the stories he told and how he always made everyone laugh.
Elton was preceded in death by parents, Victor and Verline Boyett and his wife of 34 years Shirley Boyett. He is survived by his two sisters Evelyn McWilliams and her husband Art, and Maurine Gordon. Two daughters Angela McKinley and her husband Mike, and Allison Morrow. Grandchildren Candice Hahn and her husband Josh, Joey Marks, Madison Morrow, Clayton Rivers, Makenna Cook, Tess Wagner and Sevy Wagner. His two great grandchildren Hazel Hahn and Charlie Hahn.
He was a wonderful Dad, grandad and great grandad who will be greatly missed.
A visitation for Henry will be held at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521, on Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm with funeral services to begin at 1:00 pm. Interment and committal service will follow at Sterling White Cemetery, Highlands, TX.
