Gordon R. Garrett, Jr., 61, of Baytown was born September 16, 1954, in Houston and passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016, in a Houston hospital. He was a 1972 graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School and retired from ExxonMobil with 40 years of service, where he was an Operations Superintendent, traveling extensively throughout the world drilling oil and gas wells. He was an avid hunter and fisherman but he especially looked forward to his annual deer bow hunting trip in Alto with his close hunting buddies.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ricky Caruso. He is survived by his wife, Pam Garrett of Baytown; sons and daughters-in-law, Shane and Jami Garrett of Baytown and Luke and Roxie Mickelson of El Cajon, CA; parents, Gordon Sr. ""Red"" and Marie Garrett of Baytown; sisters and brother-in-law, Sandra Caruso and Sharron and Bruce Martin, all of Baytown; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Connie Garrett of Baytown; grandchildren, Chloe and Carson Garrett and Kepler and Brahe Mickelson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Webb officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Highlands.
Serving as pallbearers will be his sons, brother, brothers-in-law Doug Going and Bruce Martin, Bo Taylor, Charles ""Bubba"" Clark, and Johnny Byars.
