Georgina Wehmeyer

Georgina Peggy Wehmeyer, 83, of Crosby, TX, passed away on June 2, 2011. She was born in Headington Oxford, England, on Nov. 28, 1927, to Albert and Emily Green. She met her soul-mate, Ernest Louis Wehmeyer of Port Lavaca, TX, during World War II, while he was stationed in Headington Oxford, England, and they were married on Nov. 17, 1945. They came to the United States in March 1947, where they resided in Baytown, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest L.; son, Robert L. and siblings. Muriel Currill, Christopher Green and Joan Mazza.

She is survived by four siblings, Marjorie Belcher, Doreen Humpton, Greta Ring and Molly Scudder; five daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Bush of Crosby, Mrs. Caroline Duhon of Baytown, Mrs. Shirley Chandler of Baytown, Mrs. Christina Statum of Hull and Mrs. Lisa Wiginton of Crosby; two sons, Mr. Louis Wehmeyer of Huntsville and Mr. Ernest Wehmeyer, Jr. of Crosby; 35 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Earthman Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, June 6, 2011, at Earthman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
