George D. Wilson, Jr. of Highlands, Texas passed away on March 28, 2009 and is now in the embrace of the Lord. He was born June 25, 1927 in Luling, TX and passed away on March 28, 2009 in a local hospital.
George started his work with Humble Oil and Refining Co in 1951 and retired in 1983. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Highlands, Masonic Lodge #179 in Luling and was a WWII US Navy veteran. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Dewey and Alta Wilson; sisters, Elaine Scarborough and Evelyn Dillman. He is survived by his wife, Faye Wilson of Highlands; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Carroll Precht of Highlands; sister, Bobby Brandon of Kingwood; grandson, John Precht of Highlands; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday, April 2, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will be a memorial service Friday, April 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church of Luling, 515 S. Magnolia, Luling, TX 78648 with Rev. C. B. Broussard officiating.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. James House for their quality care and respect for the last seven years and also the staff of San Jacinto Methodist Hospital.
