On April 25, 2013, Gaston Benavides of Baytown Texas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. Gaston was born on February 19, 1936 in Soliseno, Mexico and moved to the U.S. early in his life. He served almost 40 years as a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America Local Union 551 in Houston, TX.
Gaston is preceded in death by his father, Tomas Benavides, and his mother, Angelica Benavides. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Monserrat Benavides. He is also survived by his children, Gaston Benavides Jr., Celestina Haro, and Lourdes Jones. His grandchildren Isabella and Carina Benavides, Olivia and Tyler Haro, and Soleil Jones adored him. In addition, he was loved by his daughter in-law Angelica Melissa Benavides and Sons-in law Alex Haro and Hahn Jones. Gaston adored his family and grandchildren and was a man of faith who loved traveling to the Holy Land at every opportunity.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.. There will be a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX, 77521 (281) 422-8111.
Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. followed by the burial service. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown.
