Janet...from two more neighbors back on 7th Street. It's been a long time. We enjoyed the friendship and thought of you folks often. We've now come full circle, back to the place where we all started as young couples (Coldspring). We are saddened by the news of Gary and send our prayers. James and Sandi Chesser

My deepest sympathies to all of Gary's family and friends, I met Gary back in 1975, saw him play piano a lot, used to give him a hard time requesting Twelfth Street Rag, a very difficult piano piece, with was of course not hard for him at all. Smiles, Gary was a gifted musician, and a good friend. I met with him just a couple of weeks prior to his passing to tell him about another long time friend's passing , I am so sorry I was out of town and unable to attend his memorial service. He is gone now, no more pain or suffering, but will never be forgotten.

Well, I was in love with Gary for a long time, beginning in the first grade. He was good at the piano even in the first grade!! And I remember his mother coming up during those early years to the school to have lunch with him. She had the most beautiful long, curly black hair that I had ever seen! When we were about 30 years old he saw my parents where he was playing somewhere & he told them he loved me too back then!! The last time I saw him was at a high school reunion, I believe our 35th and we had a good visit. I remember being so sad for him when his parents were killed in that awful wreck. He had a wonderful grandmother who took good care of him though. So sorry to hear he has been sick but glad he is out of pain now. Please accept my condolences.

It was a joy knowing Gary. He had a great since of humor and fun to work with. He and I worked together at Stewart & Stevenson for many years until he got sick. I tried to stay in touch with him through out the time. I learned a lot from him through the years we worked together. I know this is a bad time of the year but, know one thing he is in no more pain nor suffering. May God be with this family and give them the strength they need... RIP Gary I will always remember all the times we had.

Gary was a very good piano player and a great friend. God just got a new band member play it son......

Gary and Janet Odom were our neighbors in the early 70's . They were great neighbors and we enjoyed them and their kids. I remember Gary playing in a band and them attending our halloween parties. Our hearts go out to his family.
