Faye Blackwell Broussard, 89, of Baytown, passed away on April 9, 2024. Faye was born in Tylertown, Mississippi, on October 9, 1934, to Cullen and Edna Greer. She had a passion for gospel music, playing the piano, and singing in church choirs. She loved playing card games with her grandkids and always loved a rowdy game of Chicken Foot dominoes with anyone who knew how to play. Faye loved to laugh and being around others who loved life as much as she did, and she remained young at heart for as long as she could.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Cullen and Edna Greer; first husband, O.L. Blackwell, and later, Clarence Broussard.
She is survived by brothers, Reverend Hubert Greer and Dr. Willie Greer, both of Mississippi; sons David (Erleen), Dawain (Janet), and daughter Toni (Jim); granddaughter Kimberly (Stefan) and grandsons Derek (Taylor), Brandon (Yesenia), Nicholas, Brent, Chad, and Matt; great-grandsons Conor and Liam; special friends Merle and Welton Cothern, Candi Frazier, Edna Langston, and Dian Rosier as well as numerous other family members and friends.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at The Lodge at Pine Creek Assisted Living Residence for their loving care of Faye during the last year. Special recognition goes to Mary Lou Trahan, Diane William, and Paula Atherly, not only for their exceptional care of Faye, but also for their love and support for Toni during this difficult and emotional year.
