Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, Ethel Lee Gibson went on to meet her Lord at 9:45 p.m. on December 20, 2012 at home. Ethel Lee Gibson was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Gibson.
""Granny"" was born on February 18, 1926 in Groveton, Texas and was the only child of Samuel Lee and Vada Davis Smith of Groveton.
Ethel was a member of Old River Baptist Church in Old River-Winfree and attended the Senior Sunday School class. A woman of God, she loved her church and her family. She always had a lap available for her grandbabies. Ethel loved bird watching, reading, and fishing. She watched sports on TV and was an avid watcher.
Ethel is survived by her three children, Sam Gibson of Burton, Texas and his wife Beryl; Colleen Fontenot of Old River-Winfree, Texas; and Carl Gibson and his wife Pam, of Irving Texas.
Ethel had 10 Grandchildren including, Jeff Gibson of Houston; Chuck Gibson of Grand Prairie, Sarah Lovelace of Oklahoma, Katie Pentecost of Liberty County, Samantha Gibson of Mont Belvieu, Dwayne Reagan of Mont Belvieu; Kelli Gibson Smith of Plano; and Taylor, Andrew, and Sam Gibson of Burton, Texas.
12 Great Grandchildren include Caleb, Joshua, and Andrew Gibson; Elizabeth and Nathan Pentecost; Blaine and Cade Smith; Allison and Marshall Lovelace; Ethan and Jaxon Reagan; Jayme Sanders.
Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 26th at Old River Baptist Church in Old River-Winfree with viewing starting 10:00 a.m. Gravesite Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Peebles Cemetary in Goodrich, Texas
